Melissa Powell, Attorney
After going through my own divorce in 2010 with seven children, I knew that women should never feel alone during the divorce process. I always knew I wanted to be an attorney, but the experience left me with a passion for family law. There is no greater, or worse experience I can share with clients than my own. I’ve been there and I survived through the grief, the struggle and uncertainty only to find that I was alive and had dreams that I was achieving.
In 2009, I obtained certification through the Kent County CASA program working with children who were in the foster care system. The program is wonderful to have a first hand look at children who are going through extreme turmoil and transition.
